Genoa, 14 December 2025- Six new E-RTG (Electric Rubber Tyred Gantry) yard cranes arrived at the PSA Genoa Pra' terminal. The delivery is part of the multi-year equipment renewal plan launched by PSA Italy in 2018, aimed at making operations at its three terminals - PSA Genoa Pra', PSA Venice-Vecon and PSA SECH - increasingly sustainable, efficient and competitive. 

PSA Genoa Pra' has already largely renewed its equipment fleet and now operates 21 electric E-RTGs and 10 diesel RTGs. The introduction of this latest batch allows the terminal to continue the replacement of the remaining diesel-powered RTGs still operating in the yard. 

A further six units are scheduled to arrive in April 2026, including two hybrid RTGs. With these additions, the total fleet will increase from 31 to 33 units, ensuring greater operational capacity, improved service continuity and even higher performance standards, while further supporting the terminal's environmental sustainability journey by guaranteeing zero local emissions and a significant reduction in energy consumption compared to diesel versions. 

The cranes were manufactured during 2025 by ZPMC, at shipyards located between Shanghai and Nantong, transported onboard the vessel Zhen Hua 35, which departed from the Port of Shanghai on 10 October. Discharging operations at PSA Genoa Pra' were completed on 17 December. 

The E-RTGs represent a key element of PSA Italy's infrastructure and technology investment plan. They were designed jointly with PSA Italy's Engineering Department and built by ZPMC in compliance with PSA Group standards, with technological customisation tailored to the specific operational requirements of the PSA Genoa Pra' terminal.
