PSA SECH unveils new 125-metre hi-tech cranes in Genoa

An unforgettable day for the port of Genoa and PSA Italy’s SECH terminal, which on March 16 welcomed two new quay cranes: the iconic light blue color that has defined Genoa’s port skyline returns, now combined with innovative, high-tech features.
With an investment of €24 million, SECH strengthens its strategic role with two cranes designed and built specifically for the historic terminal of Genoa’s port basin. Standing 125 meters tall with a reach of up to 60 meters, the new cranes can handle loads of up to 65 tonnes. Moreover, they are equipped with advanced systems, such as OCR (Optical Container Recognition), digital tracking of truck positions during unloading, and ship profile scanning, ensuring greater efficiency, safety, and precision, while boosting the port’s competitiveness and modern appeal.
