The PSA Group HSS Management System is the prestigious non-binding certification, although fundamental for the PSA Group, as it goes beyond the existing health, safety and environmental management systems and implements safety internal rules through the application of the Group values.

“This is not a formal ceremony, but a substantial one – said Roberto Ferrari CEO of PSA Italy – safety is a value in which our Group believes deeply: the task of all management is to spread this value throughout the Company: safety must become part of the daily way of working for each of us. The HSS Management System is a recognition of the integration process between all our terminals, including PSA SECH.”

“Safety is not just the management system: safety is a culture that we must inculcate on the dock and in everything we do, increasing awareness of our actions” said David Yang, Regional CEO of PSA International EM&A.

After last year's result, which highlighted an 83% drop in accidents between 2010 and 2023, the accident trend in the PSA Italy group continues a constant and significant decrease, a sign of an increase in safe behavior and a significant cultural growth in workplace safety by workers.

The 2023 objective was an LTIF (the international Lost Time Injury Frequency reference) of 8, an objective largely exceeded with an LTIF for PSA SECH of 4.0 and for PSA Genova Pra' of 6.6; an extremely satisfactory result that surpasses the 2023 objective; in 2024, PSA Italy has set itself the challenging objective of 7.

Furthermore, during the Safety Week, the SECH and GENOVA PRA' terminals of PSA Italy chose to stage, on Wednesday 17 January 2024, at the Teatro della Tosse in Voltri, the theatrical improvisation show "IMPROSAFE" (arranged by LHS Foundation, a Saipem's non-profit organization and the Association "PROMOZIONE SOCIALE TRAATTORI"); the show focused on health and safety at work: theatrical improvisation allows you to address a serious issue such as safety at work in an engaging and fun way.

The aim of the show promoted by PSA Italy is to help understand the values of prevention and the risks related to unsafe behaviours:  the values of prevention and the principles of safety must be taught before entering the world of work.
